C vrripd yOro '£5 CHUCK FURNO Heod Cooch, Fort Voncouvtr After slipping by Olympia 13-12, dumping Seattle Prep 1 4-6, smash- ing Longview 27-20, and pushing Aberdeen out of the way with a 33-14 score the Vancouver Trappers, a team made up of two high schools lost a well played game to the strong Hoquiam Grizzlies by a 6-13 margin. After this setback, the very talented ironmen from Vancouver reared into action again for the remainder of the season. Walking over the Centralia eleven 61-0, whacking Central Catholic 33-27, shading Kelso by the slim score of 14-13, and topping the season off by rapping Camas 20-0. This year's Trapper team was a very new and unexperienced, but fast improving team. With one of the fastest backfields ever to come out of Vancouver high schools a championship team was expected. Title hopes were broken when the powerful Hoquiam Grizzlies handed the Trappers their first and only loss of the season. Winning all the rest of their games, a second place league standing was a sure thing for the hopeful Trappers. In one of the last games of the season, the Aberdeen Bobcats gave the Grizzlies a bad time and the Hoquiam team went down in defeat. This put the Trappers in a tie for the championship with Hoquiam. Another honor that the Trappers received was a fourth place rating in the State Poll. TOM POE Assist. Cooch. Hudson's Boy
