History We began our Senior yearwith eighteen members. We regret to have lost a member in the person of Dianne Mashburn who left us at Christmas. Guy jackson and john Carson are bus drivers. Chineeta Rutherford won the Miss I-Iudginsu contest by a wide margin. Members of the girls basketball team were: Betty Boyce, Sarah Lindsey, jean Ann Lytle and Betty Tate. On the boys' basketball team were: john Carson, Arnold Lee Davis, and johncie Wilson. Participating in the Dramatics Club's presentation of a Christmas pag- eant were: Robert Beam CPresidentD, Betrye Boyce, Edna Carson, Annie Hooper, Sarah Lindsey, jean Lytle, Chineeta Rutherford and Betty Tate. john Carson, Guy jackson, Arnold Davis, johncie Wilson and Robert Beam have outstanding baseball records. All the girls belonged to the New Homemakers of America Club. Nellie jane Brown is Valedictorian, and Bishop Martin is Salutatorian.

Class History Retorded by Lester Martin Carson I am the class of 'S 4. I was born September 5, Will, composed of twen' ty-one members. Gloria Miller was class president, Nellie Brow n, Vice Pres- ident, Charlotte Lark, Secretary and Chineeta Rutherford, Treasurer. All the girls belonged tothe Glee Club and a majority of the boys Nellie 'lane Brown was treasurer ol the N H A Club. Gloria Miller, Charlotte Lark and -lohn Carson were members ol the yarsitylbasl-tetball teams, There were nineteen of us our Sophomore year. XVe had a very success lul year under the cirttimstanees Nellie Alane Brown received the schools scholarship medal. Nellie Brown, Lester Carson, and Bishop Martin were par- ticipants of a Debate sponsored by the History Class. Betty Tate won second prize for her creative dante at Club Flamingo, sponsored by the P, 8: H. Club james Daniel XY'ilson was presented a Safety Award as school bus driver, Otl- icers for this year were: President, Nellie ,lane Brown, Vice President, Bishop Martin, Secretary Cruy blacltson, Treasurer, ,lohn Carson Arnold Lee Davis won the Sportsmanship Medal Our -lunror Class was composed ol twenty members. Class officers were: President, Bishop Martin, Vite President, Dianne Mashburn, Secretary, Rose- mary Logan, Treasurer, -lohn Carson This class sponsored the most successful vlunior and Senior Prom, primarily because of the fatilities offered by the new gymtorium and the possibilities for more elaborate decorations. Scholarship medals were won by Nellie ,lane Brown and Lester Carson. Flames Wlilson won the Citizenship Medal. 'lohn Carson was a ranitot this year. Those participating in the Oratorical Contest were: Nellie .lane Brown, Dianne Mashburn, Annie Hooper, Bishop Martin and Lester Carson. First place winner was Dianne Mashburn, with Bishop Martin winning second prize,
