For the best days of our lives have been spent with thee A schaol as wonderful as thee, we have yet to see. You have taught us the value of success, To uphold thee We will do our best, To strive, to seek, to findg To leave every tear of yester-year behind. To look for happiness in this big Wide world, where all the problems of life will unfurl. To make you forever proud of us is our major aim So that our names you will be very proud to claim. We take these last important thoughts with us tedav Yecause to you dear Hudqins we have a debt to pav. By Tillie Margaret Miller aglndw CZQJA Ylfff By Alice M. Fields Ne, the class of 1951, draw our last will and testament and here bv state that every wish be carried out. That we toiled and suf- fered and wish to bequeath our many great talents to those who are less fortunate than we: Cll To the school we bequeath our great praises and thanks for granting us our one step toward progressg CZD To the facultv our blessings that they may have another great and studious class like ours. CBD The class as a whole wills our grand taste and great abil- ity to get French to the llth grade, our love of literature to the lOth grade, to the Oth grade, our ability to get Biology and Sci- enceg and to the 8th grade our one aim to be the best of actors and actresses. We, the departing members of the l95l class, do will and be-- queath these things: CLP Howard Caldyell wills to Carlton Boyd his ability of piano plaverg and his art of drawing to Fred Whiteside, to Peggy Boyd his quietness. C57 To Roland Cald ell, Robert Logan leaves his love of poetry and to George McKesson his role as the lover. C6P Iretia Carson wills her neat appearance to Sarah Lindsey 3 to Shirley Matthews, her habits of cleanliness. C72 Opal Henry wills her penmanship to Annie Mae Allen, and her rosy cheeks to Annie Jackson. C81 Thirley Greenlee wills her fine taste of dress to Doris Lynchg and her broad smile to Shirley Jackson. C91 Barbara Faucette wills her ability to act to Ren Kathyrn Dickevg her gift of getting English to James Wilsong to Creola Crawford her ability to sing. C101 To Mary Frances Moore, Mary Alice Glass wills her abili- ty to appreciate music, her quietness to Gloris Miller, her gift of getting French to Mary Ann Twitty. Clll Alice Fields, Tillie Miller and Barbara Faucette bequeath to the next three pals their blessings to get along better than they 0 Cl2D Evelyn Logan wills her ability to fool you at times to Chinetta Rutherford, and her ability to play ball to Charlotte Lark. C135 Alice Fields wills her ability to dance to Willie Jacksong and her gift to work algebra to Mary Carolyn Carson, to Eddie Moo- re her ability to get her lessons. X .aim mfom By Thirley Mae Greenlee I was born September 6, l9L7. On first entering this vast world I was afraid because I had so much to go through in order te cover the years ahead of me. Realizing the need for organization I elect- ed Alice Fields president. All of my girls were members of the New Homemakers Club and the Science Researchers. Quite a few of my boys and girls joined the Athletic and Glee Clubs. Alice Fields won the Mathematic prize, bringing my first year to a successful end. l9L8-l9A9. Well this year I lost several pounds, but to no dis advantageg for it proves the statement nOnly the fittest can sur- vive'. During this year I took active part in all extra-curricula activitiesg Tillie Miller, Alice Fields and Althea Carson starred in the one-act melodrama HDesperate Desmonds Dastardlv Deedn, pre- sented bv the Dramatic Club. Howard Caldwell was awarded the Ci- tizenship award given by the P. T. A. The Algebra prize was wen by Alice Fields and the Historv prize by Tillie Miller. lRL9-l95O. With Howard Caldwell I was able to pull through with flying colors, which can be attributed to his efficiency as presi- dent. I gave one of the greatest Junior-Senior proms ever given in the school. Robert Logan played one of the main character roles in the Dramatic production HEyes of Loven. Barbara Faucette won the Oratorical contest, with Althea winning second place. Evelyn Logan won the Sportsmanship Medal in basketball. After three vears of hard study and a great determination, I am ending my high school career. This year I planned as a symbolic year exhibiting in all manner, Senior dignity. Robert Logan was my president and also Editor-in-Chief of the nPathfindern. I boast as having been the first class of Hudgins School to publish a year book, Barbara Faucette was elected by the Dramatic club to attend the State Dramatic Clinic in Charlotte, N. C.
