SENIOR PROPHECY In this modern age of crew cuts, slick ducks and big time operators, we find ourselves aboard a space ship and heading rapidly into the future. We rub our eyes and look again to make sure that they are not deceiving us. We are in a bustling, magnificent city of flying automobiles and elevated Pool Hallsg a far cry from the old Hubbard City we once knew. Upon closer observation, we recognize some very familiar names and faces because we see a very cool cat cruisin' 'cross the campus - I. VARDEMAN Esq. , now managing the Swinky Swanky Scenicland. Moving on down the street we see a sign, the first of many new signs on the old streets of Hubbard, reading: THOMPSON'S GARAGE. ANN has now gained full time partnership in the growing business. We wander into a drug store, this being a VERY hot day, and order a BEETLEBOMB POP. BARRY now owns his cold drink company. We read a poster that is hanging there in the drug store and are not a little bit surprised to see: Concert Tonight - Hubbard City Opera Hall - FEATURING - LIBERACE QSIMONQ SAWYER 8a HER FAMED THREE BLIND MICE. Farther down the street we see another sign bearing familiar names: I. CHUCK HORN AND FOXY RAY ADKINS, MANAGERS HUBBARD CITY POOL HALL. As we pass we hear the sweet strains from their old favorite, One Mint Julip. As we walk on we see a friend who tclls us that PAULINE, who is a missionary in Africa, got acci- dently shipped back with a shipment of monkeys the other day. Since Clark Gable has reached his 99th birthday, CRAIN is now doubling for him in his more strenuous roles. We immediately recognized his picture on the posters at the Crystal Theater.n We meet another friend who gives us the low-down on THOMAS WALKER who is still raising corn with the aid of Mr. Rucker. We also went in to visit PAULA who has now attained a high goal. She is receptionist at the Seven Acre Lodge, a swank hotel resort in Hubbard City, no less. We hear that JAMES LUCAS is now able to answer everyone's questions, he is Professor of Physics in the Hubbard City University. Farther on down the street we see a sign: PEGGY AND MARKY'S ART SHOP. GRIN AND BARE IT is now their motto. We go on down the street and meet Kathy who tells us about her recent marriage to GEEB, now ADMIRAL ENGLISH. We also hear that KAY SAMMONS has moved to Russia where she occupies a high position in the Kremlin. We pass the bookstand and see the latest best seller, THIS CRUEL WORLD by none other than ALVIE FULLERTON. We meet another pal who tells us that DEVETA now has a twenty-four hour job: she and Rex are digging ditches and singing SIDE BY SIDE. NANCY, in her spare time away from the youngsters, is exercising her dllIieS 35 PreSid6nI of the REPUBLIC NATIONAL BANK in Dallas. KAY MOTLEY is still trying to regain her natural color which she lost in a mad honeymoon ride with Maniac Miller. Farther on down the street we see a house with a middle-aged lady sitting on the poarch singing Down In The Valley. We knew at onee that it was HELEN LAMBERT. We came back up the street to a drug store and YEP! You guessed itl They were advertising DOOL'S cosmetics, deodorants and toilet articles. We were even more astounded to see another sign reading: SECOND HAND LINGERIE, LUCY WOOD- ALL, Prop. This was just too much for us so we ran back to the space ship and were off again, very happy to see that our old friends were doing so well. haw' 74 156404.11-J
