The junior class consists of 56 girls and 55 boys each of whom has been doing his share in the earning of money for the annual Iunior-Senior Banquet. The juniors have also been active in sports. R. McWilliams, Tom Corbin, B. Mauser, H. Iackson, E. Wylde, S. Katko, R. Mallorie and P. Knupp received letters for football, and R. Mallorie and E. Wylde received letters for basketball. lean Williams received a letter for cheerleading.. The class sponsored two dances one of which was a victory dance on the night of the Hubbard-Brookfield football game. The other was a Pop Ienk's Sugar Bowl dance and the committee did an excellent job of changing the gymnasium into a soda grille. Our advisor, Miss Wright, is to be congratulated on the excellent care she has taken of the business of the class. She has kept accurate accounts of the money spent and collected. The books balance to the very penny, something unusual for a junior class. The members of the class have sponsored roller skating parties, sold pencils, and put on a class play to raise money. The junior play, The Panther's Claw, was a huge success. In the cast were Eloise Dugan, Wanda Quigley, Bob Gray, Betty Wittenaur, Bessy Conn, Mary DePaul, Henrietta Clash, Dick Evans, Zelton McGinnis, Iack Tribbie, Charles Ferguson and Iack Bliss. A large per cent of the honor students come from the junior class. On the semester honor roll were E. Sechler, I. Williams, E. Dugan, W. Quigley, K. Bereck, H. Clash, A. DeCunto, M. DePaul, F. Diroll, M. Miklos, I. Morrison, E. Pucak, L. Wise, B. Gray, Z. McGinnis and F. Perrotta. The officers of the class are: President, R. Grayg vice-president, H. Lowry, secretary, Z. McGinnis, and treasurer,'E. Dugan. . The biggest event of the junior year was the banquet at which we had the pleasure of entertaining the seniors. On September 7, 1937, a very energetic freshmen class -entered Hubbard High School. On the roll were 156 names and from them we elected our freshmen class officers, who were: President, Iohn Katko, vice-president, Sherman Nash, secretary, jean MacDonald, and treas- urer, lack Lloyd. We elected Mr. MacDonald as our class advisor, .and chose red and white as our class colors. ln our freshmen year ll members of the class were members of -the band, 5 were mem- bers of the orchestra, 13 were members of the glee club, 16 were on the semester honor roll, and I. Katko was our only member on the football team. On Iune 10, 1938, 76 members of the freshmen class were graduated from Hubbard Iunior High School. On September 21, 1938, we elected our sophomore class officers. All of our freshmen offi- cers were re-elected. As sophomores we have 13 members in the band, 5 in the orchestra, 6 in the glee club, Daniel and Iohn Katko both members of the football team, and 18 listed on the semester honor roll. We sophomores are looking forward to our junior and senior years with great delight. .F Boo! Hoo! Hoo! Here we come-the youngest class in H. H. S. But now that we are acquainted and know our way around We are no longer cry babies, but are taking our place in the activities of our high school. Although we are the youngest, we think we have the best classy this is proved by our having more members on the honor roll than any other class. After the first six weeks of school had passed and we had had time to get acquainted with the new teachers and students, we elected our class advisor, Mr. Ballenger, and the fol- lowing class officers: President, George Evans, vice-president, Alvin March, secretary, Iune Tribley, and treasurer, Shirley Booth. With the help of Mr. Ballenger we held a Thanksgiving party, which was the first social gathering of our class. On December 28 we held a roller skating party for all members of the high school. The members of our class are now looking forward to graduating from Iunior High School in Iune. We now have l59 class members. I7
