“SSNIUR Cl-ASS HISTORY M 5 6 1 J 'G ii b o It was a. nervous day in September in 1956 for aenty Freshmen who came timidly througx the doors of old Hoyt High. Even though the building was familiar to us, the Seniors helped us find our way around. The happy group consisted of Danny Rickel, Marvin McKinley, Patty Doud, Joe Mattwaoshshe, Wilma Cox, Steve Hojaclmi, Gary Salts, Kenneth Rosevelt, Myron Stithen, Glenda Jones, Bill Holt, Beth Carey, Karen Reddick, Bill Grant, Glen Everhart, Bill Fleischer, Gerri Lue Gooderl, and class officers: Marcia Joy, Presidentg Gerald Albright, Vice-President, Joan Dickinson, Secretary, Mary Younger, Treasurer, and Marlene Donahue, Reporter. 'lhis year Mr. Brown was our sponsor. Gerri Lue and Mary were chosen from our class as cheerleaders. A more ambitious group entered the doors of Hoyt High School for the Sophomore year. We were happy to have Marvin back and a new student, Tnorton Flowers. We chose for our class officers this years Marlene Donahue, Presidentg Bill Fleischer, Vice-President, Gary Salts, Secretary, Joan Dickinson, Treasurer, Marcia Joy, Reporter, and Mary Younger, Student Council Representative. Our sponsor was Mrs. Cockerill. The biggest event of our Sophomore year was when Joan and Mary were chosen for Homecoming Attendants. Mary was also chosen for F. F. A. Sweetheart Attendant. Starting into our Junior year we find that Thorton Flowers and Wilma Cox are no longer with us. We fonmd that we had gained Marilyn Southard fron Seaman. Our officers for this year were: Joan D:I.cki.n- son, Presidentg Marlene Donahue, Vice-President, Karen Roddick, Secre- taryg Marilyn Southard, Treasurer, Gary Salts, Reporter, and Bill Fleischer and Glenda Jones as Student Council Representatives. The highlights of our Junior year were the Junior play, 'Amazing Gracie , Jlmior-Senior Banquetg two Honeconing Attendants, Marilyn and Beth, who were also cheerleaders. Our sponsor for the year was Mrs. Sadler. When we returned for our Senior year in '59, we found that we had lost Glenda Jones but had gained Bob Alfrey, Sharon Heath, Jack Arm- strong, and Kenneth Rosevelt. To conclude the final year we chose our officers as: Mary Younger, Presidentg Marlene Donahue, Vice-Presidentg Marilyn Southard, Secretary, Joan Ilickinson, Treasurer, Ihroia Joy, Reporter, and for Student Council Representatives, Marcia and Gary. The many highligmts of this year included the Senior Play, Senior Banquet, Senior trip to Rockaway Beach, and best of Graduation. Also we were privileged to have the Homecoming Queen selected from our class. They were Marilyn Southard Everhart. Our sponsors were Mr. Bontrager and Mrs. Waller. Junior- aJl was King and and Glen
