Hi-Lites OPEN HOUSE From November 6-11 we observed American Education Week in our school. Posters were displayed in public places and all ,parents received invitations to attend our classes on designated days of the week. The rooms made displays for the various class activities. On Wednesday, November 8th, a special program was given. Guest speaker for the evening was Dr. H. J. Long. Also on the program were several selections by the band. During the evening the public was free to inspect the classrooms. CHRISTMAS PARTY The Saturday evening before Christmas the high school students held their annual Christmas party. The recreation committee started the evening by leading the group in active games. When the potential energy of the teen-agers was reduced to a minimum amount, the K.P. depart- ment announced that it was time to report to the kitchen. The process of eating was stopped and looks of awe and amazement appeared upon the students' faces when Mrs. Deaton walked in with a distinguished guest. Where she found Santa Claus CD.S.j we do not know, but the jolly fellow distributed the many presents to the impatient and curious group. The students then left, supposedly to go home, after enjoying a wonderful evening.
