Calender February 16-The Thundlerbolts missed the snow and ice and lost to Tilden by a 30-18 score. 17-Unhappy -day, Our Thunderbolts were slaughtered by Opdyke 100-27. 18-The grades beat Iuka 53-8 in the Oil Belt Conference Tourney. 19-We advanced to the finals with a convincing win over Vernon 38-10. 20-We placed second as Young beat us 28-21 in the finals. 24-St. Marys beat us in the District at Breese 101-7 . 27-End of the fourth six weeks. March ' 1-We beat New Minden in the county grade school tourney at Ashley by a 67-21 score. 2-Ashley beat us in the semi-finals 38-23. 3-We beat Okawville for the third place trophy in the county. 4-Billy Westerfeld wins the state tournament ticket for the best grade school free throw percentage. 9-We lost our first game in the Sparta Tournament to Grand Tower 84-34. 10-Virgil Wehking won the state tournament ticket for the best high school free throw percentage. 15--Measles strike. 54 absent. 16-It grows worse, 76 absent today. 17-It grows better, only 74 absent today. 19-Mr. Beck leaves on a windy day to see the state tournament. Both Virgil and Billy have the measles and can't go. 26-Good Friday, no school. 29-Easter vacation 31-Spieth completes the pictures for the annual. There are still a few missing. April 2'-Southwestern I. E. A. meets in E. St. Louis. No school. 3-District solo and ensemble contests at Carbondale. 9-Grade school vs. Carlyle and St. Marys in a triangular meet. 10-School Election . , 10-End the fifth six weeks period. 10-District organization music contest at Carbondale. 16-Grades vs. Carlyle and Odin in a triangular meet. 22-MQ Beck is a panel member at spring school board meeting in Mt. 'ernon. 30-Ashley Invitational High School track and field meet. May 2-Mr. Beck's birthday 4-Nashville Invitational Fresh.-Soph. track and field meet. 6-Oil Belt Conference track and field meet. 7-County Music Festival at Nashville. 8-I. H. S. A. District Track and Field meet at Belleville. 14-Class play, Take It Easy tonight 21-First day of final exams. 24-Second day of final exams. 28-Commencement and the graduates don their caps and gowns and bid good-bye to Hoyleton High School.
