--V Calender January 5-Christmas vacation is over and we are back to work. D ' 6-The grades walloped their cousins from, Iuka again. This time the score was 75-11. 6-The high school lost to Ashley again. The score was 50-38. 12-The Thunderbolts travelled to Dahlgren and lost in their almost a gym by a 40-21 score. 15-Young School beat our graders again. The score was 39-22. 15-First day of semester exams. 16-The Thunderbolts were quieted by Waltonville 67-27. 16-Second day of semester exams. 19-Crippled by the loss of several players, the grades lost to Vernon 16- 15. Scarlet fever had us down. 20-The American Legion sponsored a party for the bands in appreciation of the concerts given last summer. 22-Opdyke's High School team beat our Thunderbolts here 65-26. 22-The Washington County Schoolmasters Club met in Hoyleton. They were entertained by our chorus and band. soloists. 23-The Antioch grade game was postponed by scarlet fever. 2'6-Oops--Carlene slipped on the ice and, broke her ankle. 26-The Thunderbolts slipped too, and lost to Okawville 43-42. 26-The grades beat Okawville 26-11. 29-The Irvington game was cancelled by scarlet fever. 30-Our school was closed to-day by scarlet fever epidemic for a period jj C10 QD Utah Nlfp O I LI,-Blu? However there are many empty sea s. 10-Dahlgren High School beat our Thunderbolts 63-19. 10-The grade school showed the effects of no practice and bowed out of the Junior High School District when they lost to Carlyle 37-21 at Ashley. 11-The grades returned! to form by beating Antioch 33-5. 12-Lincoln's Birthday. 12-The Thunderbolts skid-ded all the way to Marine on icy pavements and skidded some more as they lost 39-30. 13-It may be unlucky for some, but our Thunderbolts whipped the worst blizzard of the season to get to Keyesport and then won by a 40-35 score. 13-The grades made it a double victory as they beat Keyesport 20-16. 14-The County Contests at Nashville were for our benefit this year. John- Hines won the arithmetic championship. Peggy Heillg repeated her victory of last year as spellinlg champion. and Ruth Koelling placed second in the dictionary contest. fContinuedJ
