High School 1300100110011 Returning to the basketball wars after a one year lay off, our team found itself with a new name, some new suits, and one experienced member. The new name was suggested by Leroy Greiman and Ronald Dykstra in a contest early in the fall. It was the Thunderbolts LeRoy Fark was the only veteran we had. The new suits were very pretty, but didn't come until the last half of the season. Our cheerleaders were Shirley Klosterman and Doris Gerstkemper. During the season, LeRoy Fark was the high scorer for the team, and Virgil Wehking had the best percentage of free throws made. Team members and letter winners were as follows: LeRoy Fark, Virgil Wehking, Kent Nierman, Lester Schnake, Leroy Greiman, Arthur Lamczyk, Charles Storck, and George Krueger. All except LeRoy Fark and Leroy Grieman will be back next year to form the nucleus of a stronger band of Thunderbolts. The fact that a majority of our games were played against four year high schools was the decisive factor in most of the games. With several members of this year's grade school team available and with six lettermen back for next year, we can look for a season where our Thundlerbolts will really roar.

Calender November ' 3-Doris Gerstkemper and Shirley Klosterman were chosen as the high school cheerleaders., 3-Pauline Rixmann and Ruth Koelling were chosen as the grade school cheerleaders. , 5-Washington County Schoolmasters Club met at Ashley. h 7-The County School Survey Committee was chosen at Nashville.. 8-Special election to authorize the Board of Education to dispose of the property of the old districts. 10-American Education Week opens. 11--Armistice Day, no school. 13-Sixth annual American Education Week Open House at our school for 400 guests. 18-The high school Thunderbolts lost their first game of the season to Ashley by a 33-32 score. 21-The grades opened their season with an unblievable Win over Iuka. The final score Was 52-0. 21-End of the second six weeks. 26-The grades lost to Shannafelt in an overtime, 23-22. 26-The Thunderbolts roared over Tilden High School 57-42. 27-Thanksgiving Day vacation. 28-Thanksgiving vacation. December 2-The grades lost to Young by a 25-22 score. 4-The Girls Glee Club attended the Ice Revue with Sonja Heine at St. ouis. 5--Marine High School scooted past our Thunderbolts 24-22. 5-The grades defeated Irvington by a 41-17 score. 9-Alhambra High School's skyscrapers rolled over our team by a 64- 30 score. 9-The grades beat Antioch 50-14. A 12-Waltonville High School's giants beat us 52-28. 12-Love Grade School found no love here as We beat them 52-14. 15-First day of semester exams. Moans and groans. 16-Second day of semester exams. Whew. 16-Keyesport High School outlasted our boys 40-38. 16-The grades gained some revenge when they beat Keyesport 2'6-23. 18-The high school had its Christmas party and gift exchange. Who burned the sandwich spread? 19-Ken Seely gave a program of songs and jokes for our school and its guests, the pupils of Trinity Lutheran School. 19-The grade school team got an early present when it beat Vernon 36- 15. 19-Everyone was happy to see our Thunderbolts roar again and beat New Douglas High School 35-30. 19-This year's long Christmas vacation to-day.
