American Education Week Open House The sixth annual open house held in connection with the cele- bration oif American Education Week was considered to be the most successful of all by many of the approximately 400 guests who visited in our schools on the evening of November 13th. A steady flow of parents, friends and patrons started at about 6:30 p.m. and continued through the various rooms until the short program started about 9 p.m. The program opened with a short talk by Mr. Beck, our superintend- ent, in which he welcomed the guests and gave a brief summary of the ideals and aims of our school. The rhythm band gave two numbers, under the direction of Mrs. Brink, accompanied by Miss Brink at the piano. Three selections were then played by the school band under the direction of Mr. Brink. The program closed with the singing of three selections by the Girls' Glee Club, under the direction of Mrs. Brink. A feature of this year's program in addition to the usual display of class work in each room, was the demonstration and use of the new 16mm sound projector, the Recordio, the 35mm film strip machine, and the opaque projector. These had been added to our school equipment since the last open house program. f0'D200bOOC0'JCa09G0'9bZGO'J Honors .The pupils and teams of our school have been especially active during the school year of 1947-1948 and have added many new honors to the already impressive list attained by our school.
