We knew him as a motivator of people and our leader at Hoxie High School, his own Heaven On Earth.” Only a chosen few have known the joys of imparting the gift of knowledge to others; the smile of encouragement, the secret that opens a mind's door, the hope for a better tomorrow, the friendship which endures, the love for learning. This man knew all of these things. Ah, yes, this man knew the special rewards that only giving to others brings. This man encouraged each of us to know our own special worth; to give to others, to strive for more, to right the wrongs, to stand with pride, to change with graciousness, and last, but most importantly, to have the courage to seek our own “Heaven On Earth. 6 Dedication Mr. Jim Davis took over the helm as Hoxie High School principal in 1975. Throughout those nine years at Hoxie High School Mr. Davis listened. The discipline ne enforced was not cruel — it was sure. During Mr. Davis’ administration, aca- demics became more important and good grades were emphasized. The willingness to experiment was another strong characteristic of Mr. Davis. The welfare of the student was uppermost to him. Mr. Davis was loyal to his teachers and the student body. Both teachers and students felt the security of his sup- port. Darlene, the twins and Bumpers arrive with Forrest Barrett, the big jock, discussing the upcoming football game — Herbert Hoover High vs Wilton City (Herbert’s biggest rival). Throughout the play, Corndoggie is trying his best to sweep Betsy Lou off her feet while Forrest is dating her and Marilyn (a girl from Wilton City) at the same time. Manfred, who can’t stand jocks, informs Martha Jean, Maryilyn’s friend, about Forrest and his two-timing ways. Bumpers, a dingy cheerleader, falls in love with Duffy. In the finale, The Wheels,” a gang, take care of For- rest. Wilton City wins the big game and Corndoggie and Betsy Lou are in love. Betsy Lou and Corndoggie are together at last.
