Ofhcc' Aides An office is a busy place with many things to be done. ln our offices, the secretaries are relieved of many little jobs by the office aides. ln the main office they sort mail, sell supplies, make change, and run errands. The aides in the junior high office have these same duties in addition to collecting attend- ance slips and counting tax stamps. These girls are obtaining valuable secretarial ex- perience by actuallv performing these duties. Visual ,flidfs Educators have found that tilms and record- ings are often a valuable aid to instruction. They can bring events that happen far away or in times past into the presence of the stu- dents. At Howland there are always visual aides operators available. These students who are under the direction of Mr. lrwin are trained in the use of movie projectors, tape recorders, record players, and the opaque pro- jector. Kiflc' Umm Membership in Rifle Club is open to anyone possessing a .22 caliber rifle and interested in the field of marks- manship. Members acquire a full knowledge of safety rules, rifling skills, and many general procedures con- nected with the sport. The rifle team, consisting of members of this club, competes with teams from other schools during the course of the year. Howland's squad has made a fine showing this year with many exciting and sometimes close matches. Heading these shooting folk this season are Donna Daum, president, Bob Spir- ko, vice president, Dick Kowalski, secretary-treasurer, and Lon Bridle, range master. . ,.,.. J-fame Kzwm Managers These select people are elected from their homerooms every fall to serve as representa- tives for the school newspaper. They provide an invaluable help to the paper and the stu- dents by stimulating sales, taking orders for the Tiger Times, and making sure that every- one receives his own issue of our outstanding paper. ,Cibnzry ,flidss Books are the core of knowledge and wisdom. The library aides assist Miss Woodford, our librarian, in making the best books available to.aur Students and teachers. Miss Woodford and the school find these girls indispensible, they check out books, keep the shelves ar- ranged and in order, and do so many other things that make our library such a fine one.
