Serving as Junior officers for the past year were: Coral Love, Secretaryj Gerrie Bracken, Vice President, Mike Atkins, President, Sue Vannelli, Treasurer. juuirfrs Junior year is considered by many to be the hap- piest year of school. The majority of students are participating in clubs, many have become leaders. Driver training, health classes, and varsity basket- ball are new experiences. Junior-senior rivalry is born. The hub of Howland's special functions is cen- tered around the junior class. The annual TWIRP week, held in late winter, comes to a climax with the Twirp Dance sponsored by the juniors. Second biggest dance of the year, the Christmas Formal, is also in charge of this class. Their best effort of the year is the all-night prom featuring professional band and entertainment, excellent food and games, and highlighted by the crowning of the queen. Toward the end of the l96O school year, juniors will begin looking forward to next year when, as seniors, they assume the full responsibility of their positions.
