?, CF? 517 'i' Cm O -, This is Bob Sapashe's conception of the new track, practice football field, baseball diamond, and basketball courts Our new track coaches, Mr. Farmer and Mr. Landis, plan their respective programs for the coming track season. Crack Since track has been non-exist- ent at Howland for the last five years, the student body is eagerly awaiting the sound of the first starting gun. New track shoes and warm-up suits have been purchased in readi- ness for the first practice March 8. The team plans to compete in various meets in- cluding the Mansfield Relays. Several other meets are sched- uled with neighboring schools. Mr. Landis has been hired to coach the Varsity while Mr. Farmer will coach the Junior High team.

Row Two: Andy Selep, Roy Stevens, George Mickelson, and Jack Wolcott. Baseball With the season about to begin, the Tiger baseball squad is out to win the league championship. Last year the boys finished second, losing out in the final game to Newton Falls. Four starters were lost by graduation, but the six returning lettermen should supply the team with a potent attack. George Mickelson and Ray Stevens will lead the pitching staff, while Bill Burick, Jack Wol- cott, Jim Mellich, and Andy Selep provide the batting punch. The team will be playing on the new field, which, when completed, will be one of the best diamonds in the county.
