clzcdule With the interest in the sport growing by leaps and bounds, wrestling has made its mark at Howland. Our wres- tling team enjoyed a fine season this year, winning five matches and losing five. Several injuries and illnesses played an important part in the five losses. Midway through the season, the team lost the services of Don Mor- ris, who was tragically struck by a mysterious brain infection. Don was unable to return for the rest of the year. Four seniors, Dave Smith, Jim Frazier, Don Morris, and Jim Holinbaugh played prominent roles during the past season. After winning most of their regular matches, Dave Smith and Jim Frazier both placed third in their re- spective weight classes at the district meet at Kent State University. These seniors were the boys who laid the foundation for the sport of wrestling at Howland. They, along with Coach Irwin, deserve a great amount of credit for their accomplishments.
