MR. RCGER COE We, the graduating class of 1951, dedicate the instrumental music section of the Scroll', to our former instructor, Mr. Roger W. Coe. Though he has been ill, and unable to continue his work with us, we think of him whenever we use our instruments. He has tutored most of us through sharps and flats even since we were in fourth grade. From him we have learned to appre- ciate the value of good music. During his many years at Howland, Mr. Coe was more than just a music instructor. He was a friend to whom we could turn when we had a problem. We shall long remember the wonderful times we have enjoyed with Mr. Coe. The band picnics at his home every year have always been something for us to look forward to. Mr. Coe will, indeed, live forever in our hearts. MR. GLESNER GRIFFIN Since Mr. Griffin has been taken from us to serve our country for the second time, our graduating class finds it fitting and proper to dedicate the vocal music section of the Scroll,' to him. Mr. Griffin, during his many years at Howland, has successfully directed us through many musical activi- ties. He tirelessly worked with us so that the music we learned to live and appreciate could be enjoyed by our audiences. We miss Mr. Griffin's friendly smile and, we wish him all the luck in the world until he is safely back in Howland.
