WINTER CARNIVAL The Winning Sculpture The Iumor Class sculpture Rocketshtp on a Launching Pad was voted the best These sculptures had to be built dunng one of the coldest weeks of a very cold year Congratulattons to all of you who took part helping to make our Fust An nual Wmter Carnival a very successful one were anticipated took part in many of the Carmval events whtch were held on Saturday mornrng the 21st of February on Carner s Htll Due to the great quanttty of snow that fell during the week, it was not posstble to hold our skating events at thxs trme The climax of the Wmter Carnival acttvtties will be the Coronatton Ball where the Carmval Ktng and the Queen will be crowned thetr trophtes gwen atyv and the awarding of the ftrst, second, and third place ribbons for the winners of the various events Music for the evening wrll be fur nished by Sammy Saltba s orchestra which rs one of the most popular bands in this part of the state To date the following events have yard dash with skis, 100 yard dash using one ski and one snowshoe, and a cross country race for the boys Downhill competi non, fifty yard ski dash for the gn-ls Also a Flymg Saucer competition was held for both boys and guls Before the Ball it is hoped that the skattng events for both the boys and girls and the 50 yard snowshoe and ski for girls can be held 1 1 A larger number of students than taken place: Ski jump, slalam. 100
