Now that we are sure of gradual ins—well. sure, we have begun the frantic search lor employ meni or, il we are lucky—entrance into graduate school. What a c hange since om Ireshinan year when we were starry eyed and somewhat frightened by the ttp|K r c lassmen who greeted us Irighteninglv ;is wc entered deal old Howard “Reaird against die eastern sky.” As early as Freshmen Oriental inn Week, we knew wc had a talented c lass when Roberta Flac k won the I alent Hunt Many exciting events filled this week, what with unjwc king and adjusting to the life ol the (lormitoiy, going on the “Prosit picnic, attending lectures and climaxing the exciting week with the FRESHMEN BALL . We now fondly recall when Rosita F'nertes was crowned Frosli Queen: Joan Young. Jabl erwock Queen and Connie Pincllo. Queen of the .Scroller Club. Our Steering Committee paved the way for our extra-curricular activities—whatever they may have been. How can we ever forget those Social Science classes that beluddled and disillusioned us because wc had beliesed that we were geniuses. Soon the sophomore year was upon us and we had become staunch member of ll.l .- no longer green were we but we now realized that wc were here to get an education academically. We began out soph more sear with anticipations ol making s or JVs but alas!, we were once again caught in the whirlwind of social activities. Some pledged to fraternal groups, others were just happy being at the dial”, “tree , ot lountain”, but wc were once the wise cities and we were on top of the world. Vivian Johnson Cartel was crowned Sphinx Queen and bar bam Cram reigned graciously as Sophomoic Class Queen while Sylvia West became Kappa Queen. In the meantime we were fighting tough ole” prols, such as Dr Holmes. Mr. Woobv. Dr. Dorsey and Dr. Spiailin. As our junior year starred we were beginning to tire of our flighty life and we became more serious about matters ol scholarship and ol lose, we found Clayton Jones. Heniy Smith and Ruth Fuller being elected into Phi Beta kappa: Frank l)cC-osta and S | via Peppers receiving scholarships to study in Europe: Norma Walker. Barbara Brown and Sylvia Peppers serving as exchange students at Dennison and Hiram Colleges. Many ol us have now paired oil and become Mr. and Mrs. or all time steadies' : to mention a few: Dot Gray and l.eon. Mickev and mia Mae. Vivian and Dorval, Barbara and Jimmy. Yvonne and Saint. Pat and (lamp. Joanie and Ham. Fony and Pat and Sylvia and Pee-Wee. Also we remembei the exciting moments when Patricia Dunn was elected Lampados Queen. Kothcllc Bunny Reed was chosen Kappa Queen. Yvonne Parker. Junior Class Queen and Joan Young was chosen as (and Cadet Colonel ol the RO I ( ' Jakie wc shall never forget as he served as otu never-tiring president. x wc entered our senior vcai with great exuviations, we find ourselves entering the Dean's office ejuite frcc|uenilv.
