It is with a great deal of pride that we. the 1965-66 Lasso Staff, pre- sent the Big Spirit addition of the Lasso. We have worked to capture for you in these pages those memories you wish most to retain. The 1965-66 school year was a spirit-filled year. This spirit had its origin in the Spring of '65g thus this is where our annual begins. During those last weeks of the spring semester, there were many who believed that the coming fall would bring the biggest and greatest year Howard Payne had ever seen. So . . . plans were laid then. Plans for building school spirit. Throughout the summer, enthusiasm grew until with the coming of fall it was quite evident that 1966 would be the year of the Big Spirit. As you look through the following pages We hope you will feel this spirit and cherish it always. For it is not the Big Spirit that Howard Payne is built on, rather a never-dying spirit!
