As an orchestra is a symphony in sound, a stained glass window is a symphony in color. Stained glass is one of the most beautiful and permanent art forms in the world. The great cathedrals would seem unfinished without it, like a face without eyes. But one who loolcs at a window and sees only sunlight diffused through myriad colors, has missed its deeper meaning-the beautiful, graphic story of the importance of color to man. 0 It is the purpose of this book to select only cr few of the colors of a stained glass Window and to present to you their connection to the events and personalities of this year.
