We are sure that christian education and christian schools with Howard Payne College in particular have a definite place ln the great program of Christ in the evangelization of the world Such institutions shall be standing to bless humanity when Jesus comes In the light of udgment we shall see that no smlge institution has made a greater contribution to the final crowning of our Lord and Savior than has the christian college We call upon our alumni and our Baptist people throughout this section to rally to our support We need more students We have the very best that can be offered any where Why go elsewhere? M utussxxxxxsxtirxxsxxxsxxttxxx nuuuxu ssxuuxxsxuxx xxxsuuxxxxuxtHXXXKXSSHRXKSXXSKvAxxxxxsxxnsm ssssxw I SXXX PRESIDENT S MESSAGE ITH THE closing of the l927 23 sessron Howard Payne College passes her thirty third milestone of progress In many respects it has been the best year of her history At the opening of the summer term last une many new problems confronted us We faced a new administration with all the problems of readJusQnent that such a change inevitably brings about The readjustment was made with the mmumum amount of friction This was made possible by the fine cooperative spirit manifested by both faculty and student body This fine spirit of co operation has been manifested throu out the whole year The various members of the great college family have seemed to v1e with each other in their willmgnss to forego their own personal pleasures in order that the S that one could reasonably be expected to teach has characterized every member of the faculty Never has the president called for a sacrifice within reason but that it has been readily made We are certam that no more self sacrificing set of men and women can be found anywhere Haw patient they have been how willing to help how they have borne with our mistakes We thank God for everyone of them What shall we say of the students They have been willing to endure hardships that they might well have missed by going elsewhere Their willingness to sit in large overcrowded classes to work with inferior equlpment has been a revelation to us all There has seemed to be a determination to make the work of the college a success no matter what the difficulties may be Some of these students 27 of them are going out from the college to return to us no more How we shal miss them' With what interest we shall watch their progres as they go forward in their chosen profession They have finished their course They have kept the farth We pray Gods richest blessings upon them as they go their VRTIOUS ways We assure them that the old Alma Mater shall always look with pride upon their achievements and with sympathy upon their failures What of the Future? 15 I Q!! 9 0 2 5 0 Q 01nnuggueusuuussusxssnsusxxssxussssusxsxnxuuuxxxxxxxuxuuuxnsxuxuuuxxfoni . 9 ' , ' .
