He has a good, sure wing on throw- ing to first base, is fast and always ready to receive the ball. He is not a long hitter, but is Jimmie Harpham, Captain, Left Field “Jeff” as captain and student manager of the team deserves much credit for the schedule that worked hard doing all in his power to have a win- ning team that his town and college may be proud of. He is one of the fastest out-fielders in the state, not saying anything about his ability as an infield player where he played until last season, Ray Lovelady, Center Field “Kelley” comes to us from Baylor University, where he learned the art of handling the pill in the fast, scientific way. He is a good batter, oponents awake or he will steal a base on them. He is full of humor and delights in coaching his Frank McCreary, First Base “Mac” has had a great deal of experience in playing baseball and holds a good reputation. He played first base on the Stamford College team when they had one of the fastest teams in team on batting and field work. He gets the ball, it matters not how it comes to him. H. P. C. It goes into nearly all the Baptist homes of Central West Texas and is equipped with a printing plant which is at present not equalled by any Baptist paper in Texas or adjoining states. It has a high speed cylinder press to handle the paper and smaller presses and all other necessary equipment to handle all kinds of job printing. The paper, with its editor, Mr. W. T. Curtis, going over this territory, is doing a great work in the cause of education. The paper with its plant occupies the entire upper floor of the Trent building in the heart of the business district of Brownwood, and is an institution of which we all are proud.
