FOREWCDRD The staff members of the 1957 Howard Shield have endeavored to depict the school year as a game-not just a game to be won or lost and then forgotten, but a game which molds our characters and instills in us initiative and determination. To depict fully the school year as a game, we have used sports terminology throughout. These terms will be explained at the begin- ning of each section.
