Glass Prophet On graduation night, the CLASS OF 1952 planned to have a reunion twenty years hence Therefore, in 1972 President M LVIN SIMON decided to take a well earned vacation leaving Hollywood on the NMARS OR BUSTH Rocketship Liner owned by DONALD KOEHN Melvin had become nationally famous by singing at the MOCAMBA, Just outside of Hollywood Upon his arrival in HOVEN he was greeted by CLARA MEYER, prominent New York Journalist Clara informed him that she had just published a story about the MAYOR CLINIC in Pittsburgh, headed by JACK JANIS It seems that Jack with his two very competent nurses, JEANETTE SCHAEFER and JANET SPINDLER had Just discovered a cure for STUDENTS' SLEEPING SICKNESS His name and fame had been spread from coast to coast by many grateful teachers Clara said that she was now working on a scoop about the well known lawsuit concerning LORETTA HOFFERT and MERICI SCHAEFER Merici thought that Loretta had stolen the plot of CREAMY CREAMPUFFS, her latest best seller Both are very successful novelists Melvin was surprised to hear that Meric1's attorney was none other than HENRY WALDMAN, a very prosperous lawyer from the Bronx As Melvin was strolling down FIFTH STREET of HOVEN, his eye was attracted to the glittering sign of LC'S DRESS SHOP At this precise instant, the proprietor, ELSIE JANE ARBACH came out of the store while they were speaking about old classmates, Mrs Rausch, the former JANICE SIMON came up to them with two curly headed little chaps toddling after her Governor of the State Gene wrote that he had hired a new receptionist, BETTE ROSE ARBACH Just recently Governor Simon had been visited by JAM S LEMLER, a prosperous capitalist of the State Jim had been in Pierre for the purpose of buying some stock in a USPOTTEDU TERMITE CIRCUS owned Jointly by LEO HARTUNG and ROBERT FROST Just then a school bus stopped at the corner Out tumbled a mass of school children The teacher appeared somewhat weary She was none other than MARGARET RUZSA Melvin was glad to see her After a brief exchange of news, Margie suggested they all go for a snack at the nearby restaurant when they were seated in a booth, Mrs Griese, the former VIOLA M YER, came up to serve them Viola was overwhelmed with joy to see so many classmates As Melvin was about to leave, who should walk in, but the two head nurses at the Holy Infant Hospital MARY KAY LITZEN and ROSEMARIE WEIBEL Glancing at his watch, Melvin observed he had just enough time to catch his plane at the HOVEN Grand Rocket Station As he purchased his ticket, he noticed two familiar faces coming out of the Rocket that had just landed Going out to greet them, he discovered they were VIOLET BEITELSPACHER and MARY JOAN TITGEN Violet told him she was the chief stewardess on the western division of the Koehn Rocket Line, Mary Joan, he was informed was just starting on a world wide tour She now was very famous as an operatic singing star As Melvin stepped aboard the outgoing Rocket, he glanced back toward HOVEN wishing that he could return someday to his old home town. Mrs. Rausch said that she had heard from EUGENE SIMON, the present
