bca as SJ? ropbegg no On graduation night, the CLASS OF 1951 decided to have a reunion twenty years hence Therefore, in 1971, MISS BETTY ANN COEBEL started back to HOVEN leaving her position as head nurse at the John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, for a long deserved vacation After obtaining her tickets she boarded the plane and was surprised to see two of her old classmates, LORRAINE LIBMEISTER and ROB RT SIMON, the stewardess and pilot, respectively As she settled down in her seat she noticed a picture of ANTHONY ENGEL posted Just ahead of her ANTHONY had become famous for he had coached the HOVEN COLLEGE team to victory at the ROSE BOWL, just a week ago After some time the plane stopped at Chicago, where the PQIUOUSQPB were allowed to do some sight seeing Having time to 'k1ll,' BETTY ANN decided to make use of her opportunity As she began walking from the landing field, she suddenly noticed to her astonishment a billboard advertisement of the Broadway smash hit, 'Jchn's Other Wig ' starring DENNIS TITGEN Hls leading lady was ALICE SCHAEFER BETTY ANN was determined to stay for lt and then take a later plane So, after the play, she went backstage to congratulate her classmates on a fine performance The play bel at the end of its stay in Chicago, ALICE and DENNIS agreed to accompany B ANN to HOVEN They boarded the plane and enjoyed an uneventful journey all the way bringing back old memories and experiences The three arrived at HOVEN and whistled for a taxi They were astonished to see another of their classmates, who had also achieved success in the business world They noticed the taxi had the sign, 'HACKL'S TAXI SERVICE ' 'WE G0 ANYWHERE ANYTINE ' painted on the side in large letters They entered and drove down 5th Avenue, the old Main Street As they were coming alo they noticed a large neon sign over a tall building The sign read, 'T PHEASANT CLUB EDRICH AND HUBER PROPRIETORS ' The building was located on the site of the old Johnson Cafe The taxi then took them to their hotels and they were relieved of their baggage The next thing on the list was some light seeing in old familiar and new places BETTY went to the HOVEN COLLEGE where she met ELAINE IAUP and LAVONNE BITZER ELAINE was a very successful Art teacher and LAVONNE taught shorthand She had acquired the world's highest speed record learned that HARLYN RAE was the featured singer on the program 'EVERYBODY SING ' As it was about to begin, BETTY ANN went 1 The announcer had just begun to glve his commercial when to her delight she heard that the sponsor of the program was 'THE FIT WELL FASHION BHOP,' owned and operated by Mrs Theresa Kaiser, and M s Phyllis Schaefer the former MARY THERESE MEYER and PHYLLIS ZWEBER While waiting for NARLYN to appear, BETTY ANN heard an unusually loud noise in the next studio The gentleman beside her, explained that it was JANES STUVE the greatest comedian since 'Hope ' His crazy antics were 'slaying' people with laughter all over the country BETTY ANN stated that he was probably 'Just acting natural ' After the program BETTY ANN decided to see how much change there had been made in the Hospital slnoe she left twenty years ago As she walked into the door she was greeted by DR ROGER KLEIN, who was head physician at the Hospital and had just completed nle book entitled THE ERAIN AND ITS FUNCTIONS which had astounded the medical world Going back to the Hospital NESS BETTY ANN was again more than happy to see yet another member of the CLASS OF 1951, RO EMARIE RAUSCH who explained that she was secretary for the famous counter spy detective JAMES HOEFNAN ln lashlngton D C They talked about the reunion, and decided to get their hair fixed and dried before the party began Going to the desk ln the lobby they met the owner of the hotel, Mrs John Hansen the former ROSE ERENNER She was president of a corporation which owned a chain of hotels After receiving directions, she set off for the 'SPINELER BEAUTY snor,' naturally, operated by JOYCE SPINDLER JOYCE'S motto was, 'WE GIVE YOU THE WORKS ' That night a reunion was held in the PHEASANT CLUB, for a happy bunch, the CLASS OF 1951 I ' 1 7 I , .
