This is a happy moment for me but also a sad one: because, although I have finished what I started out to do, I a.m now faced with the task of telling you all good- bye. It is rather hard for me because you all mean so much to me. These past four years have been the happiest part of my life. They have passed much too quickly for me. I don't believe a truer statement has ever been made than the old Latin proverb Tempus fugit -- time flies. As I look back through the years, I realize that the re are ma.ny things a gradu- ate can say to the underclassmen. To the Freshmen, I would tell you to study. To the Sophomores, use your time well--eve ry minute of it. To the Juniors there is only one thing to say, as we step out you are stepping into our place. We have finished our Coursey your race is still to be run. May you have the greatest success in life, now and always. Seniors, there is nothing I can say to you. You know how I feel. No Valedictorian has ever had a more wonder- ful class than the Class of 1955. I since re ly hope that each of you will succeed in what- ever you do. I'm sure that most of you know that I want to be a.n author. You probably know, too, that I have already done some writing. In closing, I would like to read to you my favorite of all that I have written. And I would like to dedicate it to the faculty and the student bodyg to H. H. S. 3 but especially to 2, the Class of '55--my class. Tilitha Pounds, Valedictorian
