FRESHHAN CLASS HISTORY It was in the autumn of 1945, when twenty-four timid Freshmen GMUBTRSG upon what appeared to them as a fearful and perilous journey through High School. Our grades as a whole have been highly satisfactory and we endeavor to increase our knowledge daily under the excellent management of our teachers- A magazine selling contest was held between the Freshmen A SophOm0F6S- The Freshmen were the better gave a party for the victors Talking about parties, moon which proved successful spring. SOPHOHORE CLASS HISTORY The Sophomore Class of Houston High School began the school year of '45 and '46 with twenty-six members, twelve girls and fourteen boys. During the year, Charles Phillis, and Bonnie Hush, left our class. The Sophomores took part in a great many school activities such asg F. F. A., Track, Baseball, Basketball, Latin Club and Girls Chorus. Our first Sophomore party was a hay-ride on the evening of October ll. We entered a magazine contest against the Freshmen. Since the Freshmen were the best salesmen, they won the contest. As a reward we entertained them with a party on the evening of December ll. Mrs. Hole, our home room teacher, resigned at the end of the first se- mester to spend the rest of place. the winter in Florida. Miss Platfoot took her President Shirley Younce Vice President Bill Jones Secretary R Treasurer Florence Van De Grift f IShirley Youncel JUNIOR CLASS HISTORY - The Junior Class of Houston High School consists of sixteen members, who are striving to make the Senior Class of '47, On October l, 1945 a class party was held at the home of Norma Jean Short. The Junior Class Play, Entitled nWho Killed Aunt Caroline?n, was given the evening of October 24, 1945. A banquet, in honor of the ,departing Seniors, was held in the school l auditorium on April 25. On September 18, a meeting was held to elect the officers to represent them through-out the year.
