i CANAAN In CANAAN at Falls Village the Great Falls of the Housatonic were exploited in the eighteenth century to provide power for a paper mill and gun-barrel factory . . . in the nineteenth century for iron forging and later for railroad shops . . . Today only a power plant remains in operation with the natural beauty of the land of milk and honey untouched by modern industrial life . . . From the top of Music Mountain the dulcet strains of chamber music have replaced the noisy hum of machinery . . .
