SAVKO We, the class of Nineteen-hundred and Seventy-one, are dedicating our yearbook to Dean Michael J. Savko, a dear friend to all ot us. He t nic Community h s hel ed us through our memorable years at Housa o 0 P College, years filled with laughter, learning, trials, trlbulation and love. ' lass. W are thankful to him tor his deep concern and loyalty to our c e His patience, enthusiasm and understanding are only a few of his endless qualities. With our deep appreciation an we dedicate to Dean Savko The Stentorian . d in recognition of his devotion to our class, 2 Patience, Enthusidsm, Understanding 3 Greetings From The President to The Class of 1971 PEOPLE AND FAITH Housatonic Community College is a better school because ot YOU. Although we had no ivy to otter you, we did our best to see that you came in contact with some very capable and wonderful people during your two years at Housatonic. These people, ot course, are the faculty and administrators ot our college. They had faith in you from the begin- ning and you delighted them by iustitying that faith. All of us learned from each other and your contribution is deeply appreciated. Among other things, you convinced us ot your deep and serious con- cern forthe important aspects of lite on this planet. You dramatized the importance of individuality and the need to preserve the dignity ot human life. You called our attention to the gradual but certain destruc- tion of our environment before it was. too late, and you demonstrated that there is no essential difference among people of all races, creeds, and economic condition it they are given the same opportunities. The people of the State of Connecticut provided the opportunity. YOU did the rest. We will keep our eyes on you, so don't stop now. Thanks for coming to Housatonic. We will miss you and we will continue to believe in you. EDWARD J.
