JUNIOR CLASS OFFICERS The activity of the year began with the election of officers as follows: President-Rich Carman, Vice-President+Bob Fults, Treasury-Ed Netzloff, Sec- retary-Esther Fowler, Student Council- Verna Randall. The outcome of the vote upon the following issues was: Class color- navy blue and white, class flower-white rose, and class motto-Tonight we launch; where shall we anchor. Proud we were at the startling success of the Fall Carnival at which two juniors, Rich Carman and Myrna Wunchell, were co-chairmen. The results of their work were excellent. Out of five Sno-Ball candidates, three were junior girls. Verna Randall- Varsity Club, Mary Ellyn Bowman-Student Council, Phyllis Sharrow-Junior Class. And Phyllis, the “52 Houghton Lake Queen” made a good showing in the finals at the Grayling Winter Festival. Through the year, the members of the junior class were active in sports and quite a few earned letters. “Clementine” the class play, starred Paula Weber. This light comedy went over big. Important was the fact that a large sum of much-needed money went into the treasury for ticket sales and advertisements. The Jr-Sr Prom, set to the theme tin Paris” was indeed the best J-hop ever. “Y ()

Grand Rapids school of Bible and Music. WARNER, MARILYN Mickey--studious--transferred from Illinois in junior year--devoted to lessons--chemistry her favorite sub- juct??--loves children (Ha) --receives frequent (very frequent) letters from Houghton--earnest in recitation in class--has an extreme weakness for anything that’s “baby blue”-- “| mean. ..”--will enter nurses training in full. WEAVER, ROBERT . Bob--natural soprano--Humorous??? wonderful dancer--plans on cutting hair for his future livelihood (barber, that is)--has frequent use for wreckers. WALLINGTON, ROSE Rosie--sincere--consciencious--lik- able and friendly--modest--works eight hours a day (besides going to school)--“Oh, great day. in the morning!” --thoughtful of others-- a fiend for work--good-natured-- hopes to attend beautician’s school -- honor roll student--a good worker in class activities. YOUNG, GERALDINE Jeri--thinks all classes are shorthand practice periods-- be- longs to “pierced ears” club-- after high school the WAFs will be her career--spectator sports are top favorite--“ Things are tough all over.”
