J Cacophony -that is the word which enters our minds when we approach this building where music majors hibernate for nine months out of a year. A conglomeration of sound greets the ear: a tinkling piano, tenor and soprano cadenzas, iiddles, flutes and Fidelio. Houghton is fortunate to have the fine facilities for music education that are found here. The building houses many small private practice rooms, studios for the professors, an auditorium, and a record library. The non-music students are fortunate that our music major friends have their building on the opposite end of the campus. .. ... ,.. .t,... .,.,. ,.. V .- W .' scsisanmece Ebuuihllimnggg 'W in H A , The center of activity in the Arts and Sciences, is an epithet which may be applied 110 the Science Building alone. In this building, nearly all of our classrooms and the four science laboratories are located. Here dwells the science student, almost as iso- lated a case as the music major, since many after- noons and evenings are devoted to lab Work. We students have at sometime met our Water- 1oos in the Science Building. These come in the form of an unprepared lesson or an unexpected quiz. Many college memories are built arOU11d this building and its occupants. I 12 .wp wg 1 ,v J .L ' 1 1 .. 4 .', 5.3 AW! 'w . fl? ,M - fl fl V I 2' :li z, ' gl .' ff' ',s' M i' ., 1 ll .
