R. Jenkins, Nlarjorie Paine, D. Hilliard, S. Shea, D. Finney, Mrs. Castle FRESI-IMEN As we began our high school career, we felt like adventurers embarking on a ship of opportunity with Christ as our captain. We realized our privilege of making something of these next few years, and we determined to do our best though Christ, our strength. Although few in number, we have had much fun together. Our Christmas party was an especially festive event. We shall continue to trust in the Lord and claim this promise . . . In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. -Proverbs 3:6 God certainly has given us an outstanding year of fun and study. Our aim and motto for the future is Conquerors through Christ. 7Tl-I AND 8TI-I GRADE September 8, 1949, thirteen rollicking sailors dropped anchor on Houghton's hill. In a few weeks the dizziness caused by new experiences had vanished, and we set out with real land legs to win the high school scholarship banner. At the end of the first marking period, the award was ours. Halloween offered the first opportunity for social activity. Our homeroom unanamously answered the call of the black cat invitations and merrily trooped into Mrs. Kilpatrick's home for a frolic of games and contests. The Christmas party at Kreckman's marked another highlight in our social life. In April we presented the Easter chapel program dramatizing The Case of the Easter Bunny and also the Easter story in scripture. 14
