N HOMECOMING QUEEN MARY IO WILSON is crowned by escort Ioe Pender during ceremonies to honor the Homecoming royalty. Against a background of black and gold and red and white, our royalty reigned in their skirts and sweaters in the 1959 Football Home- Coming assembly. Hot Springs and Blytheville Queens, attended by their maids, were crowned in the beautiful morning ceremony. During the evening there were additional ceremonies at the soggy, drenched football field. After the game both Hot Springs and Blytheville royalty were honored at a dance. where the royalty, attired in a beautiful array of formals, offset the dismal weather. T MARKS THE SPOT for these loyal Trojans. K i , Q1 l4 - NXXI' - NI'5 Fiery season spark A great part of all the Wonderful enthusiasm and never-say-die spirit that are so much a part of any competitive sport comes from the rousing pep assemblies and rallies before each game. Pep Band, Cheerleaders, Peppers, and T-Steppers go all-out to boost morale and that feeling of good sportsmanship. At the close of the season, after the last touchdown has been scored and the last basket made, awards are presented to proud, deserving players. Pep spirit never ends at the close of a season-it is just carried over until the next year. BAD WEATHER could never keep Mrs. Mackey from backing the Trojans on the field.
