National Honor Society National Honor Society, the highest honor a high school student can receive, is open to juniors and seniors with a B average or better. Members are chosen by the faculty on the attributes of leadership, scholarship, service, and character. Officers, Roberta I-lruska, presi- dent, Kathy Jones, vice president: Thelma David, secretary: and John Johnson, treasurer: were elected at the end of the 1957-58 school year. This organization sponsored the first dance in the new building, had two initiations and banquets, decorated the school for Christmas, did vol- untary work at the Easter Seal office and had a coke party during tourna- ment for out of town Honor Society members. H. S. is composed of left to right: Barbara Bruce, Zoe Ann Zimmerman, Jeanie Patterson, Betty Produit, Patti Burnell, Betty Lou Gary, Nina King, Dolores Patik, Janice Freudenthal, Carol King, and Priscilla Zimmerman. Besides being one of the main groups at the music festi- val, these girls played both modern and classical for many community affairs.
