Classes taught in this department are biology, chemistry, general science, and physics. In the chemistry lab there are six lab benches providing adequate work space, a hood to remove gases from the room, and there's a class- room area. The biology department, also, has six lab benches used for dissecting such things as pigs, frogs, worms, crawfish, grasshoppers, and clams. CHEMISTRY they entered high school, COMMERCIAL DEPARTMENT The picture at the right was taken in the typing room during a first year typing class. Besides this room, Mr, Carlson and Miss Watson have access to a room with business machines and a shorthand and bookkeeping classroom. Put these two to- gether, and we really had a sharp looking marching band. Other band activities in- cluded a Christmas Concert, performing for different community activities, playing at basketball games, and preparing for and attending the music festival at Worland. National Honor Society National Honor Society, the highest honor a high school student can receive, is open to juniors and seniors with a B average or better. Members are chosen by the faculty on the attributes of leadership, scholarship, service, and character. This organization sponsored the first dance in the new building, had two initiations and banquets, decorated the school for Christmas, did vol- untary work at the Easter Seal office and had a coke party during tourna- ment for out of town Honor Society members. Student Council projects this year included a Dance for Cancer at Halloween, the annual semi-formal Christmas dance, during tournament the armory was kept open as a recreation center for visiting Basin students, and the sponsorship of the Bobcat Lair. The year's biggest accomplishments were the students campaigns, speeches, and election of a student body president for the 1959-60 school year. The Bobcat Lair has been the scene of many enjoy- able evenings for the students of Tl-IS. These shots have caught some of the familiar events which take place at this recreation spot sponsored by the Student Council in cooperation with the Lion's Club. The final day was spent in Cheyenne visiting state officers, tour- ing the State Capital and the Governor's Mansion. The week was very educa- tional, lots of fun and many friends were made. This he must explain to his money- hungary employer, Henry Trochard. Christmas not only brings Henry and his nephew, Paul, to the Ducotel house, but, also, three convicts, Joseph, Jules, and Alfred. The three angels, help pay their debt to society by helping the Ducotels. Among their accomplish- ments are ending a love affair between Marie Louise and Paul, and very inno- cently getting rid of Mr. Trochard. Most ofthe extracurricular TM Club THS's musclemen started off the 1958-59 school year by electing Al Kilgore, president, Darrell Van- elli, vice president, and Frank Jones, secretary-treasurer. Their first major undertakings were elect- ing the Homecoming Queen and sponsoring the Homecoming Dance. This year, they, also, dressed up every Wednesday, held a couple of initiations, and for the first time in the history of the club, they drew up a constitution. The senior class prescribed the lowly frosh girls to wear long johns, no makeup, hair tied on top of their heads, and with men's overboots. Boys wore baby bonnets, diapers, lots of makeup and overboots. Everyone had a carrot necklace.
