Although the weather has proved unfavorable for real practice, the slate is still clean when the Cavernian goes to press. The town team was the first victim taken on by the tune of 8 to 7 The Memorial team was sent home on the short end f a I6 to 7 score Calloway an old veteran of the game who is playing his fourth and final year was duly elected manager He is a pitcher of great ability and a valuable inhelder and his keen batting eye mas placed him in the cleanup position His los next year will be felt and whenever Horse Cave Athletics are mentioned his name will head the list liarl Peoples will bear the bigger part of the pitching burden this year H is a pitcher who uses his head and he already has two victories to his credit Owens though playing his first season has shown up well and no doubt before the season is under way he will be holding down the initial sack regularly The keystone sack has been held clown by Green and Burks who alternate from the field Gossett who is playing his third year on the team and a valuable man with the stick will hold down the shortstop position Calloway and Lyons have been alternatin at third Th bulk of the catching work will fall upon England who is a hustlmg catcher Burks will act as second string man to this position The outfield will be cared 'or by the al ernates and Pedigo who is doing ood work McDaniel and Walter are both members of the Varsity J H 3' 7 C7 2 :' NIC?
