IN APPRECIATION Two people will forever appear on our list of unforgettable advisers. They are MR. ALDERMAN and Miss NEILD. To Mr. Alderman we owe a debt of gratitude far beyond our ability to express. Never has he been too busy to talk over with us plans concerning our senior activities. He has devoted many in- school and out-of-school hours to our class that our Senior Day, our MAPLE LEAF, and our graduation might hold pleasant memories for us. As adviser of the MAPLE LEAF, Miss Neild has faithfully helped us in the production of a yearbook of which We are proud. Without her to lead the way, work on our annual would have been far more difficult. To these two teachers We extend our whole-hearted thanks and appreciation. We realize that without their assistance we could never have achieved the high goals at which We have aimed. .4.

Miss MARYANN GALLAGHER DEDICATION It is with our deepest gratitude that we, the Senior Class of Hornell High School, dedicate the 1951 MAPLE LEAF to MISS MARYANN GALLAGHER. In many ways she has contributed to making our days in Hornell High the happiest we have ever known. Under Miss Gallagher's patient and enthusiastic guidance the Volcano has been recognized not only in Hornell High but throughout the state as one of the best school newspapers. We shall always remember Miss Callagher's efforts in making each issue of the Volcano an issue of which we could be proud. However, it is not only her work with the paper that has endeared her to all of us. Her sparkling personality, her friendly smile, and her kindly manner have meant much to usg for they have shown us that she is indeed our friend. In dedicating our yearbook to MISS GALLAGHER, we, the Class of 1951, are in a small way expressing our appreciation to her for all that she has done for us. .5.
