Principal’s Message After looking through the copy for the HORNET this year, I have noth- ing but praise for the staff and sponsor for the outstanding way you have captured the spirit of this school year. It has been a good year—a year of achievement as well as many happy hours of work and fun. 1 am sure that this yearbook will bring back memories that will grow fonder as the year’s pass. To the faculty, employees, student body and community 1 express my appreciation for the wonderful spirit of cooperation which has been evi- denced this school year. With your continued cooperation, we can reach higher levels of achievement in preparing our boys and girls to be the cit- izens of tomorrow.

Superintendent’s Message Friends: It is a privilege to bring you greetings from the Vernon Parish School Board and to compli- ment you for making possible a record of your school activities for us to review and enjoy for many years to come. The pictorial record of buildings and facilities show signs of progress but these things are only empty shells without you—our students and teachers. The true worth of any school is shown in the quality of its product. Students, you have the privilege of living in the most exciting, challenging and turbulent period in man’s history, but with this privilege will come great and grave responsibility.
