I wish to commend the staff and sponsor of the HORNET for the manner in which these events are cap- tured and preserved in these pages. Also, I commend the student body for their good behavior this year and especially do I commend the high school boys and girls for their cooperation in taking care of our new buildings and furniture. This reflects good character and training in your homes, and speaks well for our community. In the years ahead, this yearbook will help us to recall the many pleasurable hours of this school year. We, the annual staff, hope that all of you enjoy reading it and that it may serve in years to come as a happy reminder of the 1964-1965 school year. As. you browse through the book in later years, we hope that it will make you smile and recall the good olo days at Hornbeck High. Many people have contributed to the production of this annual, and I, as editor, would like to first recognize the helpfulness of the annual staff. They have worked well together; I don’t believe I could have had a more cooperative staff. I would like to thank Mrs. West, our advi- sor, for all the assistance she has given us. We certainly could not have done the work without her. Next, I would like to ttiank the seniors who helped sell the advertisements and the many businesses and individuals who bought ads. It is to these people, whose monetary contributions have made this annual possible, that we perhaps owe our greatest debt of gratitude. I appreciate the opportunity that I have had in serving my class and the school as the editor of the 1964-1965 HORNET, and I will always remember it as an honor and a privilege to have been selected for this job.
