The team was particularly proud of its victories over such strong teams as Pleasant Hill, Many, Leesville, Rosepine and Le Compte. The Hornbeck boys scored 1752 points to their opponents 1684 for an average of 39.8 points a game. They won the Simpson tournament and placed second in the Rospine Tournament .................0................... The Hornbeck Girls’ enjoyed a successful season, winning 23 and losing 8. The Horn- ettes just missed going to State in 1954, losing to Simpson in the District Tournament at McNeese by one point. During the season the girls scored 845 points to their opponents' 697 for an average of 27.3 points a game. They won four toumaments--Simpson, Hornbeck, Rospine and DeRidder. The team will lose only two regular players this season and should make a fine show- ing during the 1955-56 season.
