She gave me an invitation which I accepted And she took me by the hand-- Led me to a near-by roof-top' Where a sign said, WTaxi standn Down there swooped a plane before usg Taxi lady? Came the cry. ' Doris entered and I followed, And we mounted to the sky. As we flew I watched the pilot ' A damsel with a tinge of gray in her brown hair, To whom this celestial hacking Seemed an everyday affair When she turned around I knew her-- Helen Day and no other ', Handsome wide and riding high! Soon we flitted past a corner ' That looked like old times to me, For it was the well-known corner Close to where our high school used to be! Now the place was changed to show a Factory twenty stories highg And I'noticed a small fish stand There, as we were passing by. And behind the greasy counter . Stood a man and wife I knew at sightg Yes, for it was I.D. Sanders and Charlotte Ross Shouting--NFish' with all their might, I looked out at them in wonder, For whoever would have thought That those two would have got together And such a task been brought:

But the whole day brought surprisesg Zelma Griffin was dancing on the stage, Lillian Boling was an opera singer, Paul Sisk a preacher, quite the rage, L66 Calvi a soldier tall, handsome and straight Lo! Mildred Looney, a noted authorg ' Listen, Mary Earle Richardson, an old maid, ' prim and neat, ' Nora Gilbert had grown so very heavy, Anti-Fat was all she'd eat. Bye and bye we reached the home where Doris lived--her husband, too. But he was a traveling salesman So I didn't find out who! ' I was very tired and sleepy, So I felt that it was best To withdraw myself a little For an hour or two of rest. I slept long and very soundly, And just judge my surprise when again, after my slumber I opened my drowsy eyes, I found myself in the home I had lived in long ago, Ere I started out that morning On that curious quest to go. So you see, dear friends and classmates, That 'twas nothing but a dream I've been telling howe'er natural And real it to you must seem, ' But in this old world of wonders, Dreams however have come true, ' ' So, who knows but this, my vision, May be realized by you?
