Physical sports were not the only events that happened on board. Speech skills of the crew tested were debate, forensics, and dramatics. In all the events Horlick's S. S. The rest of his squad consisted of sophomores and juniors. The team ended up with a three win and nine loss record. This year the team started with three senior returning lettermen and a large number of reserves consisting of three sophomores and seven juniors. The old home-court jinx seemed to keep Horlick from defeating Park, both times they met. Regardless of the fact that they beat us on their court and definitely had the stronger team, our A squad beat them when they came to Horlick to play. The Horlick Alumni Squad, which was made up of boys who had had experience in the basketball field, and probably played on the Horlick team at one time or another, successfully beat the Horlick A squad. The game was played fast, clean, and ended with a high score. At the end of the season with a small squad, the Horlick team worked themselves into a third place tie with Park. Thanks to Coach Rebholz for the fine job he did with this small squad. lt is not an easy job to build a winning team with a lack of reserves. Of course, the biggest upset of the season happened when Horlick defeated Madison East. East, with the stronger team, was definitely baffled when they were beaten by Horlick. This just goes to show that the bigger they are, the harder they fall. After defeating two teams and taking the Sub-Regional Champion- ship, the Horlick Rebels went to West Allis to begin in the State Tournament. The Rebels were beaten by a South Milwaukee team 42 to 53 and were dropped from the playoff.
