BACKCRCDLJND Vvfe have gone through another war year at Horace Mann-Lincoln. In history this year will go down as the most critical the wortd has ever known. Such times as these affect us in myriad ways: primarily in causing us to turn our eyes inward, wondering how wett we are prepared to take our places as stahte citizens in the changing scene of today and tomorrow. This hook Witt picture hte as we, the student hody, lived it during the year 1944-45. Our school was our world. patterned on the tines of the world which we are soon to enter, with, of course, idealistic overtones. Has the school done its joh of HEducation for Livingu? Vxfe think that on the whole it has, Qur idealism, white it may cause us some rude awalcenings upon our leaving this relatively sheltered school world, is not htind idealism. Horace Mann-Lincoln has taught us to think ohjectivety as welt as to cherish ideals, and this hatanced hactcground wilt enahte us to face intelligently the prohtems of the post-war world. T hose who have left Horace Mann-Lincoln have seen proved the actual worth of this kind of education that we have received here at school. It is only naturat for us to dedicate this hook to Horace Ntann-Lincoln School and to the high ideals that it stands for. Xve hope that those who follow us will take advantage of the education and idealism that Horace hiann- Lincoln School stands for and has given to us. F. N. L. R. A. E. 5
