I felt worse. much worse, than before a lest. I was in rlw seventh grade. The hrst date. T remember roller skating. going to the Automat and then to see HNorthxvest Passrigc-.H After all my mothers instructions T. forgot to ash him Tor supper and we parted unromantically between two grovery delivery carts on Madison Avenue. . . . It was a wonderful movie. Vlvd meant to see il all along. but T never dreamed heyd take me-he wouldnt have asked me untess he had wanted to take me. But maybe his mother paid him .... We Walked solemnly through the park. However. we were both so tiued with young spirit that we started rofling down hills like a couple of puppies .... Everything We Wanted to say seemed to come outside the door of my house. We stood there in the cold talking endlessly about people we knew, religion, school, our Child- hood ambitions, and the deeper feelings we had. This was the real part of the date ....
