Vxfe seldom allow an important matter to receive our Oli., xvitlaout close scrutiny, even if we argue in circles in tlwe process. Once were soliclly loelaiincl a project tldougla, lilce last years procluction ol fllne Uncoln in lllinois, we see it tltrougla wliolelwearieclly anrl resourcelully. Socially we are cliviclecl. WE LEARN WHCD JCI-IN BRCDWN IS Some scenes were tifted out of the bootq with tittte or no revision, white others had to be dreamed up out of thin air. Finatty the script was tinished and approved by the ctass. Casting was done and sets started. The music committee wortced tran- ticatty, trying to compose music tor those between-scenes spots when the audience takes time out to rehash the tatest gossip. Costumes were begun, and girls coutd be heard whispering in the halts, Htve got the ductciest costume. tts simply out ot this wortdf, The props committee made a series of impas- sioned pteas, and people began coming to school with such things as antique six-toot mustiets and oit tamps, borrowed from trusting retatives. The new panet-board came, and we had the honor of knowing that we would be the lirst ctass to use it. Parts were teamed and rehearsed at odd times. tt became a common sight to see Vxfhitney mumbting to himself, 'KMy bones have been washed clean .... The great day drew closer and closer. Costumes were finished, and gifts could be found gazing into any avaitabte mirror. Hammers were stitted, and the tast sets were carted down to the auditorium. The delicate odor of set gtue, prevalent on the 4th ttoor when there is a production, was tinatty gone. The production camewand passed. It surpassed even our witdest expectations fthe good ones, of coursej. Now att that are tett to us are memories- pteasant ones. . . . PRESENTATION
