SENIOR CLASS HISTORY On September 10, 1946, we entered the doors of Horace lhnn, forty-six strong and as green and wide-eyed as any freshmen can be. we brought with us a new spirit and a determination to forge ahead. After we began to get acquainted, we elected our class officers for the yean we elected as president, Frankie Babb, Treasurer, Leona Ringoldg student council representatives, Charles Doran all vear, Herman Sallee-first semester and Joyce Hansen second semester. Many thanks go to Miss Franken and Mr. Crozier for guiding us through the problems that arexatn our freshmen year. In March we presented our assembly. Our theme was a variety show in which almost everyone participated. we also sponsored two picture shows for the purpose of buying a telescope. The next year our number had decreased to forty-four. The class officers we chose for' that year wereg president, Charles Dorang vice-president, Herman Salleeg secretary, Madonna Pigggineasurer, Burton Lyle, reporter,Betty Manleyg sergeant-at-arms, Alan Garrisong student councilrepresenta- tives, Joyce Hansen, Twyla' McFarland, and Burton Lyle. Thanks to the able assistance of Miss Anne Arnold and Mr. PufordGarner, we over canw the difficulties d'our sophomore yG5lI'9 For an assembly program we presented a radio skit. In the spring of that year we sponsored the May Fbrmal Dance. Last year, our Junior vear, forty-one of us came back to Horace Whnn with big plans swirling through our headsfbr the banquet and prom we would give the seniors in thespd g To guide us last year we elected as president, PatSchuUx3 vice-president, Burton Lyleg secretary, Joyce .Hansong treasurer, Twyla McFarland, reporter, Shirley pMcGinnessg sergeant-at-arms, Charles Dorang student council represent- atives, Twvla McFarland, Winona FFQfd, and Herman Sallee.
