THE MIRROR The Mirror is the Horace Mann High School newspaper. It is published every two weeks and its purpose is to give the news of the school to the studentpbody. Hall. The Junior High also had reporters who wrote news about Junior High acfb- ivities. The staff is to be congratulated for their fine work this year. LETTERWIEW 'S CLUB The Lettermen's Club was reorgmized this year at Horace Mann. Membership is open to boys vho have made letters in athletics. The purposes of the club are: to he of service to the schoclgto uphold the honor and prestige of the boys who have won letters and to help to plan and promote sports activities for boys dur the noon hour. The following officers were elected for 1949-50: Presi- dent, Herman SalleegVice-President,Andra Vfilliarrs5Secretary, Charles Dorang Treasurer, Hank Babbg Sponsor, Coach Gordon Anderson. The Club is attempting to formulate a cons titution to serve as a bas is for future work.

THE NEWWHN CLUB The Junior Newman Club of Horace Mann High School is the junior division of the Newman Club of the College. This is an internetininl organization of Catholic studenim. The ideals of tk: Club are:sincerity,intellectual honesty, humility, courage, and manhness. Cfficers of the club: Presichnt, Lillian Cummins, Vice- President, Charles Dorsn,Secretnry, Donna Crocker, Sergeant- at-Arms, George Atchison. SCIENCE CLUB The purpose of the Science club is for more people to become interested in the field of science. The officers are: David Cornn, presidentg Frankie Babb, vice presidentg Mary Garrison, secretary-treasurer, and reporter. Mr. Kyries is the club sponsor. The years activities are--Student projects and the joining of our club with the SCIENCE CLUBS OF'AMERlCA. The organization, due to this membership, receives different scientific materials each month. Various club members report on these materials from time to time. The club members also have followed scientific news of importance, such as, mechanical brains, atom bomb, hydrogen bomb, and plastics. we also have written to J. Edgar Hoover of the FBB.I. for finger printing materials and other devices for criminal investigation.
