If you have ever worked on a crew for one of the plays at school you know what confus1on and slave dr1v1ng goes on behrnd the curtam However when the curtam 1S opened the smooth performance de celves the spectator The actors look cool and col lected and run through the1r l1nes W1th no hes1tat1on the doors open and shut W1th no st1ck1ng or pulllng and the l1ghts subtly suggest the pass1ng of t1me In realrty the fem1n1ne lead rrpped a two 1nch slash 1n her dress on a spl1ntered board two m1nutes be fore curtam t1me the h1nges on the door dropped off as some careless stage hand jerked 1t and IS t1ed Pg20 wrth str1ng the ma1n fuse for the spotl1ghts burned out f1ve mmutes before the play began Cleavmg the stage 1n utter darknessD and th1s could go on for ever but we dont have room As producers of the1r performance every Tuesday the Soc1al Club Board has 1ts trrals and tnbulatlons 11k6W1Se At the beg1nn1ng of every year the mem bers have to sell out the house for every presentat1on After the money IS all collected they must pa1nt and decorate the set set up the l1ghts collect propert1es and sound effects Also to run smoothly every cast must have a stage manager to see that all d1ff1cult1es that 1nterfere w1th the performance are taken care of The Soc1al Club Board rel1es on teachers and parents rn that capacrty Next t1me you h1t the outer bounds of our beautlful campus and hear stralns of 'Nature Boy floatrng out to you on the summer breeze thank the pro ducers CSoc1al Club Boardj for those wonderful Tuesday nrghts I . , . - . . . ,, . . 1, - I .
