Future Horace M-Inn pupils will enjoy the fruits of these labors. At Christmas time the Council presented the Holiday Ball one of the most sparkling formal dances of the year with its Sun Valley motif, In collaboration with all the Student Councils of the city it also helped give the lnterschool dance on May 9. To celebrate the election of new officers the Inauguration Ball first of its kind was furnished an- other highlight of Horace Mann s social season. After doing all this and more, the Council drafted the Social Committee to help us along during our Hrst year without social clubs. The Committee having no precedent to follow, has tried a variety of social affairs. First it gaxe us Matinee Mixers, dances at 4:15 which proved very successful especially in help- ing the boys and girls to get better acquainted. At the close of the foot- ball season the members gave us the Football Finale a dance that xx ill be outstanding in our memories of our senior year. The Committee gained confidence as the year wore on. In anuary it became benevolent and presented the Red Cross dance. Many nosel features were good fun. I L i l,
